The five universal elements, often referred to as the Panchamahabhutas, are said to be the foundation of the cosmos and are found in all living things, according to Ayurveda. Ether (Akasha), Air (Vayu), Fire (Agni), Water (Jala), and Earth (Prithvi) are these elements. According to Ayurveda, including foods that represent these elements in our diets can help us stay in balance and improve our general health. Here are some illustrations of foods that correspond to each element:

1. Ether (Akasha): Ether stands for openness and spaciousness. Ether-related foods are light, purifying, and spacious. Fruits: Apples, pears, grapes, melons, and berries are some of them. Peppermint, spearmint, fennel, coriander, and cardamom are among the herbs and spices. Light Grains include millet, quinoa, and amaranth.

2. Air (Vayu): Air is a symbol of motion and mobility. Foods related to air are energising, light, and dry. Vegetables: Leafy greens, sprouts, celery, and broccoli are a few of them. Legumes: chickpeas, mung beans, and lentils. Almonds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds are among the nuts and seeds.

3.Fire (Agni): Fire is a symbol of change and digestion. Foods having a Fire element are nourishing, energising, and metabolism-enhancing. They consist of: Cinnamon, ginger, cayenne, and black pepper are the spices. Ghee (clarified butter), coconut oil, and olive oil are examples of healthy fats. Lean meats like chicken and turkey as well as seafood like salmon are sources of protein. Whole Grains: Quinoa, oats, and brown rice.

4. Water (Jala): Water is a symbol of cohesiveness and fluidity. Water-related foods are hydrating, nutritious, and calming. Fruits: Watermelon, oranges, grapes, and cucumbers are a few of them. Cucumber, zucchini, lettuce and luscious tomatoes are among the vegetables. Soups and stews: herbal broths, lentil soups, and clear vegetable soups. Herbal Infusions: Cumin, coriander, and fennel tea.

5.Earth (Prithvi): Earth stands for security and a firm foundation. Foods that come from the earth are nutritious, stabilising, and grounding. They consist of: Root vegetables include radishes, carrots, beets, and sweet potatoes. Whole grains include whole wheat, barley, and brown rice. Legumes: chickpeas, black beans, and kidney beans. Walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and chia seeds are among the nuts and seeds.
